ATC / Air Traffic Controller
Description:
This is a fun air traffic control game with highly realistic radar behavior. The game is definitely not as easy as it looks. Be sure to take time to read through the air traffic control tutorial located inside the game. This game is much like the real world of air traffic control with never quite enough airspace and always too many aircraft. This is great simulation for aviation enthusiasts and aspiring air traffic controllers.
Instructions:
Click on an aircraft to bring up the control panel for that aircraft. Assign headings, speeds and altitudes as necessary to establish the aircraft onto the runway approach path. As an air traffic controller, your job is to maintain "separation" at all times. That means all aircraft must be at least 3 miles apart at all times, or separated vertically by at least 1000' at all times. If not, you will be visited by an angry supervisor!
You will notice that each aircraft target's data tag is draggable by mouse. Moving an aircraft's data tag does nothing. It is simply a viewing convenience. IMPORTANT: Do not expect aircraft to respond to instructions immediately! As in real life, it takes time for a pilot to react; it takes time for a aircraft to respond; and it takes time for the radar to display a change in aircraft behavior. Keep in mind that this is a radar simulation, it's not like you're just playing free bingo, so you have to be patient and anticipate these slow aircraft responses.
